With over 18 years of experience of dealing within the VCE curriculum, Ken brings a wealth of knowledge to the team of New Journey Academy. His expertise in his area of specialisation is matched only be his level of professionalism, as students can expect to receive a practical insight into the VCE Exams from this VCAA insider. Ken is an accredited member of many VCAA academic associations and his close connections with VCAA examiners helps him to achieve standards for excellence that has been demonstrated over his time at New Journey Academy.

Since the establishment of New Journey Academy, Ken has been committed to producing high quality resources as well as presenting a number of courses for VCE Physics and Chemistry. Ken's attention to detail and knowledge of the VCE study design is reflected in the resources that he produces for both schools and students. His friendly nature and personal teaching style has helped many students achieve excellent results in their final examinations.

Ken's aim is to create critical thinkers and problem solvers. Hence, his teaching practices revolve around ensuring students are able to utilize their academic knowledge to solve real life problems. Within his lessons, he mainly uses active learning pedagogies such as “inquiry based learning”. The power of such pedagogies is that they present students with personalized challenges, test their understanding and push their academic limits. The aim of such practice is to create active learners who inquire, question and “invest” in the process of unfolding, comprehending and utilizing scientific concepts.

Ken recognises the wide range of abilities in skills, languages and backgrounds of students and believes that students should be provided with a range of learning activities and contexts to give them optimum opportunities to acquire knowledge and develop skills consistent with their abilities and experiences.
